Movement meets good company

A little movement. A real connection.

Small movement gatherings in Ottawa.
Come on your own. We’ll make the introductions.

There’s room
for you here.

You bring yourself.
We’ll help with the hello.

Walking into a room where you don’t know anyone can be the hardest part. At KIN, meeting people is part of the plan. Rachel welcomes you, introduces you to someone, and makes space for a conversation that doesn’t end when class does.

  1. Arrive

    A familiar face,
    before class starts.

    Rachel pairs you with another guest for a quick hello. You’ll have someone to settle in beside, without having to work the room.

  2. Move

    Your own mat.
    A shared experience.

    A Pilates class led by Rachel, with space to move at your pace. No partner poses. Just something good to do together.

  3. Stay

    Class ends.
    The conversation stays.

    Stay a little longer. We bring pairs together in small groups, so the next introduction feels easier than the first.

KIN = your people.

Traditionally, kin means family, the people you’re closely connected to. At KIN, the workout, Pilates class, run, hike or coffee is the way in. The goal is human connection.

KIN = Family
Your people, your community, your sense of belonging.
KIN = Kinesthetic
Movement, the body, energy, and physical connection.
KIN = Connection
Meeting new people, building relationships, and shared experiences.

Come find your KIN.

Rachel Feldberg, founder and instructor

In 2024, Rachel moved to Australia knowing nobody. A workout changed that.

On her second day, she went to the gym alone and met Holly through a partner workout. They’re still close friends. They travel together every year.

In her second week, she met Joe at a run club. He hosted pop-up beach workouts, and Rachel later coached at his events.

Those connections changed her experience of a place that was completely new to her. Movement gave them something to do together. Being introduced gave them somewhere to start.

Now, Rachel is bringing that feeling home. As a personal trainer and Pilates instructor, she knows how to lead a class. With KIN, she wants to make meeting people feel just as much a part of it.

Rachel Feldberg
Founder of KIN Club

Good to know.

A little less wondering.
A little more feeling welcome.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. KIN is designed with solo arrivals in mind. Rachel will welcome you and introduce you to another guest before class. You don’t need to find someone to come with you.

Who is KIN for?

Anyone who wants to meet people through movement. Maybe you’ve just moved here. Maybe you’ve lived here for years and would like a few new faces in your week.

Will I be doing Pilates with a partner?

No. The pairing is for the welcome, not the workout. You’ll have your own mat and follow Rachel’s class at your own pace.

Do I have to join every conversation?

No. Introductions are an invitation. You can take your time, skip a prompt, or leave after class. There’s no pressure to share anything personal.

What if I’m new to Pilates?

You’re welcome. Pilates at the Patch is a 45-minute mat class for all levels, and Rachel will offer options as she goes. Mats are provided, so just bring yourself and a water bottle.

When is the next event?

Pilates at the Patch is next: a mat Pilates class at 1818 Farm and Cidery, with a cider tasting after. It’s on Saturday, October 24 at 10am and costs $35. See the event details.

Is there a non-alcoholic option?

Not at this event. The tasting after class is cider only. You’re welcome to join the conversation without a glass.

Can I get a refund?

Tickets are final sale.

You don’t need to know anyone yet.

That’s a good
place to start.
